Previous or planned outing top Water Sports Before a BSA group may engage in swimming activities of any kind, a minimum of one adult leader must complete Safe Swim Defense training, have a commitment card (No. 34243) with them, and agree to use the eight defenses in this plan. BSA Health & Safety Committee strongly recommends that a participating leader have completed "Swimming & Water Rescue" for an aquatics event and also "PaddleCraft Safety" for a boating event. Both are a one-day course and provides a leader with the skills to be a Qualified Supervisor.
